The 2025 NFL playoffs field is set on January 11. The top 14 teams clinch for the postseason and will compete for the Vince Lombardi Trophy on February 9, and there are significant key dates including the 2025 NFL Playoff, bracket, and the Super Bowl game.

The National Football League’s 105th season finished with the regular season and the most exciting moments start with the 2025 NFL playoffs on Saturday, January 11, 2025.
Where is Super Bowl 2025?
The 2025 Super Bowl game will take on the Caesars Superdome multi-purpose stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana. The New Orleans Saints home stadium will cover the NFL Championship game on February 9, 2025. Live TV coverage is available on FOX Network.
Current NFL Playoff Format:
In the two conferences, the top 14 teams have competed in the NFL playoffs, since 2021. AFC and NFC conference champions received first-round bye with home-field advantage in the divisional round. And the other 12 remaining teams will play single-elimination wild card games. Each conference has four divisions and winners are seeded 1 through 4 and other non-division winning teams are seeded No. 5, No. 6, and No.7 in their overall records.
The wild card round is scheduled between the No. 5 seed beating the No. 4 seed, the No. 7 seed beating the No. 2 seed, and the No. 6 seed beating the No. 3 seed. The divisional playoffs featured the lowest seed vs the highest seed and the lowest seed vs Division winner in each conference and advanced to conference championships. Two best winners teams of conference championships will meet up in the Super Bowl game.
NFL Playoff History from 1933-2024
The NFL playoff system was founded in 1933. When the championship game was started with regular-season best records from 1933-1966, just one playoff game was held. Four teams in 1967, eight teams in 1970, ten teams in 1978, eleven teams in 1990, and 14 teams played all rounds in NFL Playoffs from 2020 to 2025.
